An ankle foot orthosis (AFO) is used to improve walking patterns by reducing, preventing or limiting movement of the lower leg and foot and by supporting weak muscles.
Ankle–foot orthoses are commonly used after stroke to stabilize the foot and ankle in stance, and lift the toes in swing.
Afo foot guard ankle orthosis is made of thermoplastic material and has an inbuilt removable terrycloth . It immobilizes the ankle at 90 degree and pretends rotation by means of a T-Bandage .
It is ideal for protection , relaxation of foot and ankle at multiple positions .
The white material is thermoplastic sheet, moulded. Inner part is made of soft padding material with velcro straps for tightening up. The base has T flap for extra support to prevent the patient from toppling
